The project is intended to illustrate how quickly robots can be brought into an application. With 3D printing and the necessary know-how, an industrial robot was turned into an artist in two days. The process is an excellent example of “rapid prototyping” – the rapid development of operational prototypes.<\/p>\n

The Paintrobot is a demo project in which various techniques are used, such as robotics, artificial intelligence and rapid prototyping. The basis is an industrial robot that is programmed to work with the canvas. The basis for this is an image file generated using artificial intelligence.
\nThe brush holder was created on the specifications of the robot and the brushes in CAD and produced in the 3D printer. In a “human-computer co-production” Doris Aschenbrenner draws the painting. The “Painting of Jo Geraeds” is a tribute to a professor emeritus at TU Delft, who, in addition to the field of “smart manufacturing” and robotics, has also supported the scanning and 3D printing of old Dutch masters, including Van Gogh.
